Pipe Welding prepares the student for the transmission pipe welding and process pipe welding industries. Graduates will be prepared to work in chemical and refining facilities as well as nuclear plants. The skills learned during this course will allow the student to pass stringent pressure piping welding requirements on carbon steel pipe in the 6G position on both schedule 40 and schedule 80 6" pipe.
The primary welding processes in this program are SMAW (stick) and GTAW (TIG), and pipefitting layout. |

Upon successful completion of this program, the student will have passed a minimum of 24 written tests, and will have passed visual inspection in the 2G, 5G, and 6G positions as well as guided bend tests in the 5G and 6G positions. |

The Combination Welding covers Production, Structural, and Pipe Welding. The welding processes learned during this course include SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, and pipefitting. Additionally, all Combination Welding students will complete introductory courses in Bluprint Reading and Welding Symbols.
This comprehensive course will allow the sucessful graduate to produce high-quality single v-groove welds on schedule 10, 40, and schedule 80 carbon steel and stainless steel pipe.
Future career options include transmission pipe welding, process pipe welding, construction and maintenance or repair welding. |
